OUR STORY

The Essence of Kashmir

Not a sourcing story. A home story.

01
THE VALLEY

This isn't sourcing.
It's home.

Kashidaar didn’t choose Kashmir as a supply region. Kashmir is where this began — the saffron fields of Pampore, the Pashmina looms of Srinagar, the honey of Pahalgam and Gulmarg. We grew up with these things. We’re not introducing you to Kashmir. We’re bringing it to you, unchanged.

THE VALLEY

Every winter, the Valley goes quiet. The looms don't.

THE CRAFT

Five Hands, One Thread

Every Kashidaar piece carries one of these techniques — each slow, each centuries old, each still done by hand.

Sozni

Sozni

Fine needle embroidery, worked thread by thread. The most time-intensive of all.

Tilla

Tilla

Metallic gold and silver thread, raised and couched onto silk and wool.

Aari

Aari

Hook embroidery, fast and fluid — chain stitches that read as continuous lines.

Kani

Kani

Woven, not embroidered — using small wooden spools. The rarest technique we carry.

Zari

Zari

Fine gold and silver thread worked into borders and motifs — the shimmer that carries an evening.

"People ask why it costs what it costs. I tell them: come, sit, watch one hour of the work. Then ask again."

A Kani Weaver, Kanihama

The Promise

Verified. Not just claimed.

Every piece is traced to where it began — the fabric, the technique, the hands that worked it. We say only what we can stand behind, plainly, and nothing more. No borrowed claims, no adjectives doing the work of proof.
